Parent and Students of the Roswell Independent School District,

Today Governor Lujan-Grisham announced school closure for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  Although our school district is closed for onsite learning, school will continue as we engage students with experiences that both continue and further their learning while helping them stay connected with teachers and classmates.

We have added online resources to our district website, for you and your student's use, along with instructions on how to access our district online programs.  We encourage you and your students to access these resources, which include:  IStation, Reading Plus, Ilit, Moby Max, and others, as listed on our website.

Next week, our school principals and district leaders will collaborate together to develop a learning plan for all students for the remainder of the school year.  The New Mexico Public Education Department has given every school district in New Mexico approximately one week to develop our Continuous Learning Plan for the remainder of the school year.

Students will be provided with both on-screen and off-screen authentic learning opportunities, while maintaining social distancing.  We will continue to provide you with updated information through the district website, robo-calls, and press releases.  Please ensure your child's school has current, working phone numbers and addresses.

Grab and go breakfast and lunch will continue to be offered at identified school sites and this information can be accessed on our district website, www.risd.k12.nm.us.

Please be assured that the staff of the Roswell Independent School District have and will continue to work diligently to provide your child with an outstanding education.
